Could all this angst about the owners give Moyes a free ride?

Not saying he's doing a bad job, but no-one seems to be talking about Jocky as much now?

So from Sullivans interview it seems lamost certain he's staying (assuming we stay up)

no complaints for me, 2 defeats in 12 league games, 1 loss in the last 8 home games

Exactly. If one (ONE) transfer under another regime doesn’t go well he’ll give one of those ‘well it was against my better judgement to step back. I blame everyone involved. I didn’t want this player. I took my eye off the ball and look what happened. I won’t be taken for a ride again. I’ll personally deal with all the transfers...’

And if anything it’ll be all he needs in his mind to be in total control. Apart from when any other signing doesn’t work out. When once again he’ll have been talked into it by the manager, the fans, the tea lady or his kids.

Yeah, like THAT's ever going to happen.

First decision the manager/DoF makes and it will be, "Well, I tried, but I just wanted to make sure...", and he'll be back balls-deep instigating another balls-up.

To be honest if he keeps us up and goes then that is the ideal scenario for me as I don't rate him anyway......

My only fear is who Gullivan bring in which is the stuff of nightmares.

The early talking about 'Jocky' was because he came with a mixed bag of reviews. Good at Everton, crap at Sunderland, with a mixture in between.

He seems to have stabilised us quite a bit, we're still in danger, but better than under Billic. The talk about him will now resurface if the media reports are correct.

Seems obvious to me.

I expect Moyes to keep us up, and revive his reputation in doing so. And then, if he has any sense, to bugger off.

The board's failure to strengthen more than it has done will mean both that doing that minimum will boost his standing, and make it seem reasonable for him to take the first proper job he's offered.

We'll probably end up with the cheapest of his assistants.

Was pretty obvious that G &S wouldn't give him money to spend if he's not the long term manager.
They did their usual huffing and puffing and then got want they wanted.....window profit and two more wages off the books.

Moyes adopted an ill disciplined, fatigued, un-organised squad lacking confidence and stability.

He's been plagued by injuries to his first team players, most of them attackers. So I cant really blame him approaching the games with a damage limitation tactic. Sometimes it's worked and others it hasn't.

He also has one of the worst board's in the league backing him who aren't prepared to pay for the players he wants or they promise him.

He was either brave, foolish or naïve to have even taken the job.

Not really, he has played that way in pretty much every game sometimes leaving our best finisher on the bench in favour of that extra defensive midfielder.

He’s got such a negative attitude. Can’t play to win. It’s hard to watch and could see us go down because draws and losses won’t be enough.

we've lost two of the last 11 league games despite the horrific injury list
after Tuesday we were 5th n the form table, even now we are 8th

he;s doing ok

I'm OK with Moyes for now.
I think he's limited options wise regarding attacking formations with our two best and most creative players out injured plus Antonio plus Carroll.
I'd be happy to re-assess his position at the end of the season by which time I'd expect us to still be a Premier League team.

Moyes is doing what I expected him to do.

We look more organised generally but we are still pretty poor. I didn't expect him to anything other than stabilise us.

However, we do still look inconsistent from game to game and even half to half. I thought we played pretty well in the first half on Saturday and if Byram wasn't such a fucking plank at heading a ball then we would have gone in 3-1 up at half time.

But the second half was atrocious. We sat off, we looked sluggish, had no creativity and looked like we ran out of steam. It was pretty dire.

But, as I say, what we all expecting from Moyes. He is what he is. Bang average. And that's what we are so for me we are what I expected us to be under him.

He's not been supported in the Jan window though and that is not his fault. All managers will be able to get better results with better players. Moyes will do that. But even with a team full of great players he will have a limit. We won't ever do any better than top half under Moyes and this board.

He only ever sets up not to lose. Look at the home matches with Bournemouth and Palace. We didn't look to win either of them!
